Conflict of Interest and Export Control Training

These workshops are intended for ALL/ANY faculty, staff, and students who want to learn how to protect their identity, research and intellectual property.  

The purpose of the UNM Conflicts of Interest in Research Policy is to protect the integrity, trust, and respect of UNM, its academic community and its research activities. It enables compliance with applicable laws and other regulatory requirements to protect investigators who may be exposed to conflict of interest situations.

National Institute of Health (NIH) Training

Training must occur for all PHS/NIH disclosures:

  • prior to engaging in any grant or contract funded by the Public Health Service (Including NIH)
  • at least very four years after initial training
  • when warranted by other circumstances, such as noncompliance

The training will cover the Department of Health and Human Services Final Rule revising Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) regulations (42 CFR Part 50) Subpart F for grants and cooperative agreements and(45 CFR Part 94) for contracts. The training should take about 15-20 minutes to complete.
